Aaliyah's debut album Age Ain't Nothin' But A Number was released in 1994. Aaliyah Danahaughton was only fifteen when her debut album was released as Gold. R. Kelly was a key influence on the collaboration that put her in the spotlight. She collaborated in 1996 together with Jermaine Dupri as well as Timbaland to release her second album One In A Million which featured the hit number one single If You Only Knew. Aaliyah gained international fame for her R&B singing on the album. She was also as a character in Romeo Must Die, a romantic action film with Jet-Li. Joel Silver, film producer and director of the movie Romeo Must Die spotted her at an awards ceremony. The year 2002 was the time she appeared as involved in the Anne Rice-produced movie about horror Queen of the Damned.
